skinny women arent attractive. i dont know why ppl in general and themselves think that. i would not like to take someone out and feel like im feeding them for the first time. i like me women with a little meat on them. not huge, not skinny. somewhere in between.

Ya know im all for the fuller sized woman im a freshman in highschool and everyday i see girls walking around looking like if a gust of wind came they would blow away. But i dont think banning skinny women from the runway will absolutly stop the obsession to be "skinny". Today what we know as skinny is not as it used to be even just five years ago. The press and the celebrities have distorted what skinny is. Being anorexic isnt healthy and some celebrities have suppported this. But back to the model issue I think that there should be a mixture of sizes of women. I think it would help designers in the long run. not all women are skinny and they should adjust to the need of their clients. Yes we all have seen those women that think they wear a size 2 but really dont fit but we all just have to accept that we all arent a size 2 or 3 and that we need to suit our bodies the way we made them. big tall or short and skinny. it all depends on how well you feel in your own skin.

I've been following this story since Barcelona first banned ultra skinny models from the wedding gown show. When Madrid did the same, it caught the world's attention. I couldn't be happier that it is catching on in other countries as well. This may be the best thing to ever come out of the modern fashion industry.

For the people who don't know, it's not about discriminating against the thin women. It's about public health awareness. The women who are banned under the new rules are the women who are so far underweight that it is unhealthy. This is no different from public smoking bans, fighting against obesity, or any other health issue. Girls as young as 6 have been diagnosed with eating disorders, all in the name of looking like a supermodel. Not all models are naturally thin, some have eating disorders, they take diet pills when they don't need them, and some have even been caught with illegal drugs. There are occurrences of models passing out, getting ill, and even dying all in the name of being as skinny as possible. Everyone from Britain's Prime Minister to designer Giorgio Armani to supermodel Erin O'Connor, and more, have sided against the underweight models. They all agree that while slender is healthier and more attractive, skinny is going too far in the wrong direction. Even the popular waif Kate Moss says she likes her fuller figure better than the super skinny body she used to have.

Sorry so long, but I feel very strongly about this!

I'm very against banning skinny models just because they are skinny. Go ahead and ban them if they have an eating disorder or do drugs!! But not for being skinny, thats stupid. I am naturally skinny. I eat and eat and eat and cannot put on weight. I have tried. And I know that there are models out there like me who have a high metabolism and they should not be punished for something they have no control over!!!
It sends the wrong message to girls like me-that being skinny is somehow wrong. Theres seriously nothing i can do about my weight.

Size 12-14 is the average size woman, I'm not referring to the 20 year babes, but real WOMEN.

I agree--models look sick and gross now--with all their bones poking out--yuck! It shouldn't be that if you dont wear a size 2 you're not pretty--it's ridiculous. There are many many girls and women that are gorgeous and not a size 2. I think everyone should ignore the bony women on the magazine covers. Be happy with your personal body type and be healthy!

forget size. . . the only thing people should be concerned with is whether their body is healthy. why does anything else matter? there are so many people who are skinny because they're wasting away from horrible diseases. . . if you CAN be a healthy size, that's something to be thankful for!
