What do you think i should get because i whant a system that is going to be popular for years?

The Wii
the PS3 is goona be super expensive for one, and it really dosent look like all that great of a system
id say Wii or 360

I'd go with the Wii. The PS3 is going to be great...if you want a bluetooth dvd player. The fact is at this point, very few games are slated for a ps3 only release, and some of the cross platform games are actually looking worse on the PS3 than on the other systems because Sony has been so late getting out dev kits and have made the new system so complicated. The Wii is promising a lot of gameplay for a lot of types of game for a moderate price. I want to find something to praise the PS3 for...but they've seemed to have only lost features, games (such as Assasins Creed and other "exclusive" games now going cross platform) and their response hasn't been concern...it's been the executives of Sony saying they've so brainwashed people about their systems they could sell the PS3 with no games ever coming out. Admittedly, after they did just that with the PS3, they very well might...but I buy systems to play games, and I'm not buying until I see some hot games that actually get reviewed well and are worth that much money.

If you look at the two systems you will see that the PS3 has more of everything when you compare it to the Wii. The PS3 comes with the blue-ray DVD player that cost 1000.00 bucks just by itself, and the Wii does not. The PS3 is equipped to handle hd HDTV 1080, and the Wii does not even support HDTV. The PS3 is 512 bits, and the Wii is only half of that. The PS3 has wi-fi and blue-tooth technology and the ability to instant message, and it plays videos off the net as well as music and free on-line game-play. The Wii has a game-line up mostly for children, and the PS3 has games for serious hard-core gamers. The Wii lacks in every category except in price. I'm getting a PS3 for sure.

If you do not want to spend $500 on a console, then get the Wii because it's cheaper. If you got the cash, you can also get an Xbox 360 too. The Wii is already popular for its remote.

I was looking into the same thing. I have a PS2 but I'm disappointed in the games they have. I'm leaning towards the Wii right now since it will play the gamecube games and the Wii.

if you want a cheaper decent system get the wii, if you want a really awesome,popular and expensive system get the ps3
