I'd be more upset at the person who laughed because that person is encouraging it.

The person that laughed. I would take that as them validating whatever was said. That actually happened to me and years later when I met the girl who laughed (I didn't recognize her at first), I was actually rude to her and later on I remembered why. The hurt was still there.

~Depends on how funny it was. I hate people that laugh at bad jokes. Then again, I've got enough self-confidence and ego that the crudest, rudest things said about me generally come from my mouth. Best part of it is, it's all true and I'm damn proud of it. Those of us looking down from the top of the heap can do that. As for the rest of you losers who are bothered by what others have to say about them, I really have no advice. It's a foreign concept.

Sometimes I laugh at rude comments myself, I laugh at the other person's audacity!

The person who laughed.

It would depend on the people involved and how much I cared about them. If a stranger made a bad comment about me and my husband laughed, I would be more upset at him because I value his opinion and expect him to defend me. If it was two strangers involved, I would not be mad at either one of them because I would not care what they thought about me.

I would try and ignore them both; and ask God to give me the love in my heart to forgive them both. For most likely, they both are ignorant of respect for others. And I would probably pray for them both to get saved, so that God could change them both.
