To keep repeating that they're the ones killing each other is ducking the issue. The Iraqis were not killing each other before we went there. And, certainly, no Americam soldier lost his life, limbs, or brain there then. We did not go because Saddam had ties to Bin Laden, nor did he have WMDs. He did threaten Israel because he supported Hamas. So? Is it our job to die for Israel? Or for Iraqi freedom? And the Iraqis? Where is that freedom/ There are more dying today indiscriminately, per day, than during Saddam. At least, with Saddam, they knew not to cross the line into dissent. Now, there are no rules. And the country is in a civil war, and slowly but surely, being broken up into cantons, segregated by religion.

On the World News? Yes. Sadly, that is the reality in Iraq today. Most of the deaths are caused by other Iraqi's. They've embarked on a viscious cycle of violence. Sunni killing shiite killing sunni. Death squads, some consisting of police, others endorsed by local politicians and clerics. Tragic, but such is the reality.
