Some friends and I were talking about how to get rid of the burn, and one of them said his coach told him something in urine has medicinal effects. Anyone know if this is true?

True. Urea (active ingredient in urine) is used in many drugs and treatments made by pharmaceutical companies to treat athlete's foot. Urine kills existing fungi and prevents new fungi from growing in the infected area. I live in Australia and I'm half Chinese so I grew up with a lot of alternative remedies that oddly enough DO work! Sometimes better than medicines sold over the counter. For instance, Loquat syrup on a sore throat works wonders. Ancient Chinese remedy.

Actually this is strange but true. Has to do with the pH level of your urine! A better way is to get an antifungal spray though...

Urine is sterile antibodies, don't drink it , it does have pathogens in it from the body , but in boot camp they told us to pee in the shower because the antibodies do kill the fungus that causes athletes foot

Of course not. Urine does have a tiny bit of ammonia in it that can kill germs though. Learned this from my friend who's a doctor.

No, you have to soak your feet in it for 30 minutes twice a day. You'll have to reserve your pee, because you have to have enough to cover your feet.
