It offers a lot of liberal arts interpretation degrees in business, science, computer sciences, and the written communication methods such as journalism. It has a number of certificate programs too according to the 2006-2007 program listings. The courses are available online in the form of distance learning. According to the Dean's message, it has been around for 25 years. Most of all, it is part of Harvard University.

The HES offers two undergraduate degrees, an AA (Associate iin Arts, which is basically a two-year degree) and a ALB (Bachelor of Liberal Arts, which is basically a four-year degree).

One can also, however, petition to add studies in business to either of these degrees, if one maintains a 3.0 average for the equivalent of two years of coursework. If a student decides to add these extra studies (and if the student's petition is accepted), the student may earn what is called a "Professional Citation" by taking and earning a 3.0 or higher in four courses in the following fields:

Accounting and Finance
Business Communications and Negotiations
Entrepreneurship
Human Resource Management
Journalism
Legal Studies
Marketing
Multimedia and Digital Content
Museum Studies
Project Management
Strategic Management
