And remember that this is a day to honor dead ancestors. It's like Mexico's Day of the Dead and Memorial Day in the US.

From Llewellyn's Witches' Calendar: Light a fire in a cauldron, or on a hearth. Gather the seeds from your jack-o-lantern, or buy pumpkin seeds. Charge the seeds with the power to help you release the past. As you toss seeds into the fire, name those things/events/memories that no longer serve you, so that you may walk into the coming year free and unburdened. As an alternative, release the seeds into a running stream, so that the cleansing power of water will carry away the past.

Have a bon fire to honor the god, carve pumpkins to keep away evil sprits, put out food and sweets for freinds and family not of this world. sings songs, and read some stories about the god and his rebirth that will be coming soon. Reflect on the things you have done over the past year, and make some goals that you would like to accomplish. Remember to honor the god and goddess, not candy and greed.

we write bad habits on stones with pencil and throw them into river or stream. The water wisks away the bad habits so we can start again.

Get them to help making cookies or decorating. Whatever you decide, simply include them and make it a family activity.
