He played guitar in all of the concerts and on the album, the extra guitarist, Pat Smear, did not come until 1993 for extra effect. Kurt was known for his sloppy and aggressive guitar playing..it is part of way Nirvana is so great.

I am not a big nirvana fan, but you are so wrong i thought it would be entertaining to point this out and still answer your initial question. I think you are wrong and you know it, a frat boy couldn't do better. Kurt cobains choice of chords and arrangements are what most subsequent bands based theirs on in the 90s, like it or not, that s what being influential means. Important guitar playing has absolutely nothing to do with proficiency, if it was so, then wouldn t every tom, dick and harry metal player on youtube be a superstar? dave grohl is unarguably a great drummer. That is a clear and proven fact. His timing and range are that of virtuosos. Bare in mind i m not even a huge fan or anything. Man, you are so many times just technically wrong, it s amazing. Yours aren t even opinions, just simple, incorrect, uninformed statements. Noone in nirvana was ever a teenager. To clarify, nirvana started when kurt kobain was 20, and became noticed when he was about 24ish. The bassist was 22 when they started and dave grohl joined at 21. Guess teens were just older then, haha. To use teenager in a derogatory manner when talking about rock and roll music is the stupidest thing ever said on the subject. Almost all stars of rock and roll (and really all music) started as teenagers. saying the fans helped them sell out, is really dumb and i hope you realize that, and laugh. But to answer your question, people admire him mainly because post-fame he would talk about how his shows became more than just for punks and outsiders, and that everyone showed up. he became afraid that since "frat boys" found his music, nerds would feel ostracized. He openly told everyone that they were all welcome no matter who they were. To teenagers, that s important to hear. Maybe not adults, but they don t admire him the way a kid can.

i think mr cobain played guitar in the studio, but live he couldn't play all the guitar parts at the same time. when they played live before his death I know that pat smear from the germs played with them. he told me one day "everytime I get into a band and they start doing good the singer dies!!" (darby crash, curt cobain) i think that guy plays for the foo fighters now. watch out dave grohl.

Yes, haven't you ever seen Nirvana on MTV Unplugged?

Watch this clip of Butch Vig, who produced Nevermind (and is the drummer in Garbage, too):

neither. he tried to do both, but he sucked, then blew his head off! however, a good man, by the name of pete liberty, showed me music by the late El Duce. now that dude was good. not kurt irwin or steve cobain, what ever his name was.
