Even at 75 I'd like to be in "Wind in the Willows". It's exciting without being dangerous; there are good friends to share adventures with in a world unspoiled by corporate economics; and I inordinately love "mucking about in boats". I would aspire to be "Ratty", but suspect I might be cast as "Toad". He's so human!

I guess if I had to pick some place to live out of a fictional book - and the place had to be completely fictional - it would have to be The Hundred Acre Woods with Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, etc. Wouldn't be to bad of a life! Maybe I could lend poor Eeyore a hand now and then!;)

Harry Potter would be fun if I was a wizard.
Books by Christine Feehan, she is a famous author about a race of Carpathians...I wanna be a Carpathian!
Books by Bertrice Small, I want to be Skye O'Malley! Be a gorgeous, rich, woman that fights pirates, loves kings, and owns estates all over Europe!
Fern Michaels - I want to be a Weekend Warrior in a female vigilante group with money to burn and mean people to payback...

Can you tell I love to read! :P

Nice question!

I like to read stories where the characters are placed in hopeless situations but somehow, with brains and courage, get back on top. That's not to say I want to find myself in the same situation! The sort of books that describe happy, healthy people in loving relationships (ie my life) are too boring to read, so I can't choose a book.

Harry Potter.... definetly Harry Potter. But i also felt "at home" while reading Mary Poppins. And also Julie Garwood's books... cause they really are fictional.... all those amazing castles in Scotland, beautiful ladies, powerful lairds... ha ha... i'm such a hopeless romantic! :P

the heart is a lonely hunter by carson mccullers. the story itself is kinda sad but all the people creating their own ideas of what is actually happening with this man is just fantastic. also, hells half acre by will christopher baer would be rather exciting if only for a moment. there is only so much murder, snuff films, and deception you can handle.

I think the either Kim Harrison (Dead Witch Walking) or Laurell Hamilton (Anita Blake) would be great. Both worlds seem like they'd be cool.
