What the hell are you trying to ask? the thing that brough this to my attention is the keyword "cackling goose" this is a symptom and a descriptor of croop, an illness seen in children and can be life threatening. Its a small chance this is what your asking, but because you made a statement and put a question mark on the end of it we'll never know. if you do have a child that sounds like a cackling goose, take him/her to the doc now, it could save thier life!!

At one time in my life as a young boy, I lived on a farm for a number of years. and we had ALL manner of animals. That is, except horses.

We had several geese, and I can tell you they make quite a racket when they get upset, and they will even attack and chase any intruder. That is why they would make great watch dogs (birds)!!

Actually, geese don't cackle, they honk. It's really more of a shriek. Gawdawful loud. That's why they make such great "watchdogs"!
