is it the day arrested? the day you are sentenced? the date you pled guilty? or the date you signed a plea agreement? this matter did not go to trial.

it is the day the judge adjudicates you guilty, which is normally done while you are being sentenced. if the judge withholds adjudication then you are technically not convicted.

What you are misunderstanding is that your case did go to trial. The day the judge asked you how do you plead, and you answered guilty, was the day of the trial. There will be a record of the judge then saying he finds you guilty, which is the actual conviction, and issues a sentence. It may not have been a disputed trial, but it was still a trial.

What do you mean it didn't go to trial.

If you are convicted of a felony you either went to trial or pleaded guity.

The conviction date is usually the setancing date as far as I am aware.

"When the judge says it/

It goes in this order "usually"

arrest -> "guitly / not guilty finding-> conviction "-> sentance.

These could be on different dates (likely ) or on the same date. Depends how many appearances you have (will probably be on the last or second last appearance)

Date the judge issued the order, certificate of conviction. Probably the day you actually pled in court with all the warnings etc. Trial doesn't matter. If you were held in jail before that then that time should count also.
