You need to use the iTunes program to sync files to an iPod. If you have music in Windows Media Player, you can import them into iTunes. If the files are MP3 files they will be imported directly with no conversion needed. If they're unprotected WMA files the iTunes program will make and import "M4A" copies of those files, which is Apple's version of an unprotected WMA file, so that they will work on an iPod. The program will not import or make copies of protected WMA files though.
