I have been watching them lately and they look like they are getting better with Freddy Sanchez being the front runner for the NL batting title, the best player you never heard of Jason Bay, and Jack Wilson they look like they can atleast get to .500 next year or better

I agree..and they actually have had a couple of pitchers that were consistentthis year...Nady has hit well since being traded...they need one of the young lead off type hiters to step up next year, and if they can keep Duke, and Snell, a 3rd decent pitcher and I believe they are a 500 team

You know what, since that major trades the Pirates did around the trade deadline (Sean Casey-Tigers, Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez- Mets, Kip Wells- Texas, Craig Wilson - Yankees) The team has been on the hot streak despite only receiving only two vets (Chacon and Nady). I think with young stars the Pirates have. Next year they MIGHT become an .500 team, depending on how much will Kevin McClathy kick out during the free agency.

They are going to be a good quiet team, but as someone else said, they really need the pitching

It's all about pitching, something they lack. It'll be fun to watch them though
