We're talking politics here. I say they ought to think before assuming that everyone wants to know their opinion. They shouldn't be surprised when they lose fans. Jon Bon Jovi anyone? What say you?

I believe in the right to say whatever you want--I spent 38 years of my life defending that right by serving in the military. But here is the kicker for celebrities-- dont go around spouting any old crap, research what your talking about, be informed and remember I paid to see you perform, not listen to your hallucinations. My money and time is valuable to me, so I prefer not to waste it, nor do I intend on wasting it listening to you rant about whatever. do the job you were payed to do and if you wish to discuss other things later, call me up--I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

1. In America, you have the right to your opinion. You do not have the right to be heard. Another person does not have to care what you say.
2. This is the glory of the free market system. See what happened to the Dixie Chicks. They picked a fight with Toby Keith by insulting him. They insulted President Bush in Germany. Country music fans turned on them. I say great. People will vote with their feet.
You can also look at Linda Rondstat, who while performing a very expensive concert in Las Vegas, went on a liberal rampage about I believe Michael Moore. She was booed out of the hotel and asked never to come back.
The entertainment business is one where arrogance is widespread. They do not live in reality. Everyone around them tell them how great they are. They believe their own press. I am glad when commie lefties run their mouth because it gives me one less person to frequent.
I can add to the banned list
Tim Robbins
Susan Sarandon
Sean Penn
Ted Turner
Hanoi Jane Fonda
Bruce Springsteen
I also refuse to watch Law & Order for their repeated insults at Republicans. Same for Dead Zone and many more shows.

Yes, of course they have the right. Whether or not "everyone wants to know their opinion" is beside the point.
Scorebore, the Dixie Chicks latest album debuted at #1.

Yes they can, but they shouldn't. When a celebrity tells people their political views or their sexual preference they will offend somebody no matter what it is. When you know about the way they think or act it distracts from what they do. If a movie star is bisexual its hard to think of them as a clean-cut parent, priest, or mentor that they may play the part of.

Everyone has the right to say anything they want. As soon as you start dening other people's rights you start a slippery slope that will lead to tyranny. Besides the market will keep them in check, ie if you don't like Dixie Chick's views no one is forcing you to buy their album.

They have just as much right as anyone to voice their opinion. However, just because they are celebrities doesn't mean their opinions are more valid than a non-celeb. They just get more attention for their opinions, which can be good or bad.

There is something called free speech. If you don't like what they say either ingore them or disagree with them. This should be common sense.

The right to express an opinion is a Constitutional right. If you think someone should not be able to express their opinion maybe you should move to another country.
