I totally agree with you! I'm so tired of the media that I gave up tv (except to watch House, of course... can't give House up!) because the people on them scare me... they really do. Their perfection just freaks me out. Lots of makeup, perfect bodies, rehearsed scenes... ugh... If I was a kid, I'd be feeling like crap because I would be wanting to compare to them. Fortunately, I'm not a kid anymore (15, in fact) and above the media. However, I have even stopped watching CNN headline news at 10 minutes or so before the hour because of the entertainment report because it just makes me want to tear my hair out and say, "UGH!" Then, I wonder what the world is coming to.

Hey mate, I agree totally. Look at Paris Hilton what a bimbo.
Getting closer to home Russell Crowe really annoys me with the stupid crap he goes on with. Although I must admit I did shed a tear when he spoke of Steve Irwin at the memorial.
I suppose there is false and dumbass celebrities which we can brush off. Just as long as our family and friends become don't like them. I have a mother who thinks she is better that anybody else due to the fact she has money....I am by the way 45 and I cannot stand false or snobby people.

I am so sick of Lindsay Lohan, I can't even stand to hear her name. She just did a Disney movie 18 months ago(Herbie) and while filming and promoting it she was notoriously late to the set and hard to get along with. Pics. of her with Kate Moss leaving a stripclub came out about the same time also. What a good "Disney" model. NOw she thinks she's got it under control with her new boyfriend. Whatever.... Lindsay is an accident waiting to happen... She's got several movies coming out soon and I will not attend any of them, and don't personally know anyone that will. She just puts a bad taste in your mouth and ruins the whole movie. She was reprimanded by letter just last month - you can see it on the Smoking Gun website - by the producer and owner of the film she was currently working on. They should have canned her! She was working with Jane Fonda...etc. pros in the business, who is she to cause the film thousands of dollars daily by being late. She should count her stars and act right. When did the greatest ever act like that - Clint Eastwood, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, etc.. I can't even think of names that way surpass her and her behavior. She''ll dry up and go away!
Don't get me started on Paris Hilton, it's all said without words!

You know, IMHO it's not the celebs who are to blame.....it's the media, THEY are the ones who create the hypes.
If the media would not do so, I think we could at least partly go back to seeing our parents, or school-teachers as a role-model.
Since we can't turn back the clock....methinks for a large part it's up to the parents to teach their kids the true values in life.....and a very difficult job it is indeed.

I don't watch TV(except 30min at lunch hour) or movies.
But they are every where.
I guess I just try not to pay much attention. There's enough drama in my own life as it is.
