The bump is traded to another person (mythical) who accepts that bump but gives another ailment, such as a hump. It continues about three times, during the story. This story might have been a part of a collection of folklore tales, but had a moral ending, basically about accepting ourselves as we are. It was read to me back in the 70's, and I have searched. II would love to know the title and author, however, any websites to which one can research a book by content would be appreciated also, as I do not know the author or title. Thanks.
