I would say a food class. Chemistry is very hard, and I dont see how it would help to be a Chef unless you want to get deep into Nutrition, such as food Calories and such.

I doubt it, but from what I've seen, a big dose of art courses would be most helpful. Presentation seems to be a major part of being a chef!

Only if you want to be Elton Brown. It would be needed if the program you take requires a high school diploma and your school requires chemistry to graduate.

provided that replaced into component to the mandatory curriculum. Getting a level seems to have a selection of of unneeded BS linked - the factor being which you would be a properly rounded person with a level once you bypass away the educational equipment. the basics are - something to do with making pastry.

I think it would help in a general sense as some of the concepts are transferable, but I would be surprised to see it listed as a requirement.

No, but you need it in order to graduate.....at my school you did anyway. No, a Foods class would be considered an elective.

no. Worry about your college courses. most places anywhere just want to know if you passed high school or not. AKA got your diploma.
