If you want to create a t.v. show that has a character that is similar to a real person, you need to be carefull & all your ducks in a row.
A person can create any t.v. show to submit to the networks, if they choose too.
There are somr guidelines you have to follow such as if one of your characters resemble a real person's life you could be sued for using there likeness without their permission. This is an infrigment on their rights.
Go to your friend & discuss it with him/her & if they don't mind have them sign a waiver to the usage of there likeness.
It is a good idea to change the name of the character, for legal reasons.
If your friend does not want his likeness used on the show create some charastics for that characer that are not related to your friend.
The best thing to do is to get legal advise from a reputable laywer who specializes in this area of expertise. Never go into a project this big without knowing all the rules & regulations set out by the entertainment industry. They are very strigent on this subject, so no-one will go out of the boundries set forth.
Research,Research, & know all the do's & dont's before starting any endeaver in this area.

for legal intentions and purposes it was set up along time ago, that you can not use some bodys real name living or dead, unless if they are alive and they agree to have there names usedd, etc, if your going threw with this if you just use a living persons name without thetre consent you could be sued big time for slanderr and what ever else and lawyers love this smile all the ay too bank hons, good luck on this simply put get the permisiion for your project!!

ITS BEST NOT TO USE REAL NAMES FICTITIOUS NAMES ARE LESS APPEALING FOR SOME PEOPLE BUT IT SURE KEEPS TROUBLE DOWN.
