When I heard about that, my brain leaked out of my ear a bit. How incredibly stupid can you get? Hey, isn't California a blue state? Big surprise.

It'd be better to file a lawsuit that will force auto makers to meet very strict pollution controls. We need to move forward into the future, rather than sue based on what has already happened. You can't change the past, but you CAN change the future. So making new pollution requirements on vehicles would do that more so than making auto makers pay a few million because they MIGHT cause global warming (which I haven't seen any studies that quantify how much auto pollution contributes to global warming, and how much is from other sources).

The litigation lawyers in this class action suit are proving once again that there is no fine line between need and greed - and no accountability from individuals when there are deep pockets to be found.

I had to put duct tape around my head when I first heard this so it wouldn't explode. You should try it, it's effective in preventing gray matter ear leakage, too.

If it weren't so insane, it would be hilarious. Isn't California the state that has led the nation in forcing emission standards on the auto makers since 1973? And haven't they met these standards by building unique vehicles for sale only in California? Yes and yes.

Ever drive the LA Freeway at 5:00? They'll sue the highway department next for making the freeways too damn narrow for the shear number of vehicles that the auto manufactures have forced on them!

Because the people who run California have been lobotomized?
I think we should nuke the San Andreas fault, let California float out into the Pacific and become a separate country.
We can make Hilary the first President of the Socialist State of California....then the rest of us can get back to actually living life instead of fighting off stupid ideas perpetrated by her ilk.

Its just a way to get the auto makers to the table and work out a agreement for the future, surely you don't think they believe they can win anything for past pollution, its just a negotiating tool so they can work out the path for the future, and the future is going to be low pollution like fuel cell cars, electric cars and hydrogen powered plus biofuels. one of the problems is that the oil people and auto people are on each others boards and sometimes its just the same people so they are using this angle to get negotiations going.

I think it's ridiculous. Each and every person should be held responsibile for this [which eventually we will] ... everyone has taken part one way or the other. Seriously!! Anyway, I think the factories, boats, importers, exporters, jets, smokers etc. have even contribution in that case. Oh well ... what's the world coming to?? Well, the rest of the world anyway. lol. My world's ok.

They can't even prove global warming (global climate change) is caused by autos. Do you think the left even considers how much credibility they loose when they start talking?

I think it's a disgrace and that sickening creep Al Gore and Schwarzenegger need to be deported out of America for perpetrating this lie, after they're countersued for all they're worth.

I think that California needs to be excavated with a trenching machine off of the continent, so that it's liberal mental disorder doesn't spread.

But who is the governor?

And I agree with you. It reminds me of all the people who still try to sue the tobacco industry. What? They forgot to address you personally on the pack of "Cool", forgot to mention your name in the fine print and say that to smoke is not so cool for your lungs? Hello!

You think it's insane, until they get a few million dollars to stop the suite.
