I still can't get over how bad "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton is. The horrific atrocity of it kills a few of my brain cells every time I have the misfortune of hearing it. What do you think? Have YOU heard worse? :)

In response to whoever said Lovin' You was a great songs: I just can't stand listening to it. It gives me major headaches. But I REALLY hate rap music more than words can ever describe. XD

Britney Spears was pretty bad but we won't know just how bad it was until like a whole decade has gone by....

And as far as "Lovin' You" is concerned... the high pitch notes were considered REALLY amazing at the time.... kind of like Whitney Houston's cover of "I will Always Love You"...

You get over it... then it sounds tedious....

I think the worst songs are the ones with stupid meaningless lyrics though.

Case in point... how many songs go like this now:

"It's gettin' hot 'bout now.
Oh baby.... yeah.... baby....
I know.... uh huh....
So crank it up now....
uh uh.... awww yeah...."

Lovin' You was a great song. Loved it. Would get a guy a lot of dates in the 70's if you said you liked it. Now rap sucks bad. How the hell can you call that music? I think rap is just an excuse for pimply, young, immature boys to put a loud, bass speaker in the trunk of their car.

William Shatner, the original Star Trek's "Captain Kirk", actually put out an album around 1967 titled "The Transformed Man."
On it is his rendition of the Beatles' "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." I'm convinced that since I've listened to it on one of the old Dr. Demento Show radio broadcasts that it's gotta be the reason the MUTE button was invented! Listen to it more than once, and you probably couldn't rock again...

for me it's the 80's Street of Dreams song. I have no idea who does it nor do I care. I've always gotten migraines from that song since I was little. It's the person's voice that I get sick over. I don't mind the beat.

now that I think about it, I have no idea when it was made, I was little in the 80's so that's when I heard it.

Lyrically I would have to say "MacArthur Park" by Richard Harris (he sings about leaving a cake in the rain and then losing the recipe, and he will never be able to bake that cake again!).
