is Big Media Business Bad for Business Overall?

Do to changes in FCC regulations the US media is much more consolidated today than ever before. does this hurt or help businesses overall, what about small independents? how are they affected?

Very bad in my opinion. Too few set the agenda with very little check and balance. That is what frightens me the most. Quality is so poor rarely watch TV. I know one thing for sure which is I will never buy CD set for any reality show.
