I think it's more the pain of death that we fear.
Personally, the older I get, the more faith I have, and the less I fear death. Sometimes, the idea almost seems welcome. Not that I'm suicidal, but just realize that life cannot go on forever, and when I have to go, I'm ready.
The only thing is, I don't want to miss holding my own grandchildren, and it's sad when people lose parents and grandparents when they are still young.

God loves and forgives us always. I believe every human being is afraid of death to some degree. The phobia is not existing the way we are now and not knowing where we will end up. Being afaid of death is a natural aspect of life and will always remain. There is recorded in history where some humans did not fear death because they knew where they were going. Also I was told and somewhat experience death, and it is not painful only the outlook of how one dies.

I think there is something to be said of the fear of the unknown. I think that most of us are afraid to leave unfinished business. We are not alone in this. The loving and forgiving Savior prayed that His cup would pass from HIM.

the only reason one might be afraid of death is because he/she has sinned all their lives and are afraid of burning in hell. if you read your bible and have faith there is no reason for one to be afraid of death. remember God gave us the ability to choose between right and wrong.

I like to think that not all of us are that afraid of death, but did you ever think that maybe deep down we know that all the priests and ministers have been totally BS's us all this time.

We are suppose to be. But hell, its something everyone gets to experience but no one has (besides Jesus) come back and told us about it. Besides that...we are bombarded daily, minute by minute how horrible death is....it would scared the s....pants off of anyone. That why we have faith...we will make it in one piece to the other side...and hopefully no more pain.

Because if you do something sinful and he doesn't want to forgive you as many times you ask for his forgiveness then he will strike you down

We are afraid to leave the people we love behind and if it's been a good life, you just don't want to leave.

I think it is because we fear the unknown, no one really knows what will happen. I think people more fear the pain and suffering that might come before death.
