I already do...
and since I've stopped watching TV, I realize how boring Americans can be...
always blabbing on and on about some idiot on American Idol or something...
they have no life.

We used to be totally addicted to TV and got rid of the sattelite dish about 4 years ago.
I have no clue why the Desperate Housewives are so desparate.
Have never seen CSI or 24 hours
I have heard of these shows but don't miss TV.
The few times I've watched a show I wonder why people spend time on it. I find the internet has a lot more entertainment!

why would you want to?
television is just a form of story-telling
entertainment and education about people and places
(and things)
you wouldn't otherwise know about
--and, you'd be the lesser for that lack
but, just as you wouldn't have time to
sit at the story-teller's knees 24/7,
you have to limit your amount of tv viewing
sometime, i mute a particularly
insipid show
and look at the costumes and scenery
television is full of recent and ancient history
it's also rife with popular culture
--which is the bugaboo for most
tv detractors
but, popular culture
is where we all live
--a solid reason to keep up
plus, tv's fun

I got rid of the cable when my ex-husband left in 2003, because I couldn't afford to keep it. I never missed it. Now we have cable - it came free with the internet connection - and don't watch it at all. I tried to watch when they first hooked it up, but there was absolutely nothing on worth wasting my time. Wasting time on the internet is much more fun, interactive, and informative.
