Dumb. Manny got a bad rap for the teams playoff performance. If Detroit based an entire career on playoff performance, how is Datsuk still with the team? Hasek is a short term solution and Legace is much better than os-no-good.

Personally.. they made a mistake..
Legace played well above his size.. and was not soft.. even with Jimmy Howard in development, I think the Wings would have done better keeping Legace and Osgood.. and not resigning Hasek, who these days is a virtual guarantee to have a groin pull sooner, more likely than later this season.. Legace really has never had a significant injury issues, and his play in the playoffs, while not spectacular, was steady.. he certainly was not the reason the Wings exited early.. gotta score in order to win.. and usually more than one goal.. Legace will be a steadying force in St. Louis and he'll guide them back into the playoffs this year.. likely as a low seed, but no matter.. and the Blues have bought a couple of years to develop a goalie, something the Wings should have considered

They will regret it. Although Manny has not been the main goalie the last few years as madammayhm says, he could have been in the future if they would have kept him. He had a so-so playoff series it was not his fault they lost. Where was the scoring? Hasek was the goalie in 02, Joseph in 03. They treated Joseph like crap in order to bring Hasek back in and where did it get them? You would think they would know better. The first time he has to do a kick save there goes the groin and it's all over for Hasek. Then we are stuck with Osgood. It's not looking good.

It was a huge mistake. It wasn't even Legace's fault in the playoffs, the whole team just fell apart and didn't look like they really wanted to win. I hope Legace does good in St.Louis, he is a great goalie who just needs another chance.

Hasek only has about a year left in him, so after this who is Detroit going to have? If Hasek gets injured (he probaby will), they're going to have to rely on Osgood. I think Legace is much better than Osgood. Osgood is not in his prime anymore and he wasn't even that good in his prime. It was stupid for Detroit to let Legace get away.

its the stupidest move ever. Legace could of been number 1 goalie for them years ago but kept on signing other players like Cujo and the Dominator. then he finally got his shot and the fans blamed everything on him so he wanted out.

Stupid! Hasek is going to play for what a year? many 2? they need a good goalie and Manny was that man....Yes we still have Osgood..but manny has the main goalie for the past few years.....Once again...the Redwings are not thinking....I love the Wings...We need manny!
Yes..he's right..manny hasn't been main for the past few years..just last year..but he should be...They don't need Hasek...They need a goalie who will be around for a couple years and manny would have done that!

the redwings have got to stop blaming crummy playoff performance on goaltending. the only guys i saw trying out there were yzerman and zetterberg. they never put up the goals and then blame guys like poor manny for giving up any. i hope he gets his revenge. i'm positive groin boy won't be any help to the wings

the wings are going to tank this year, they lost so much this year, with stevie y, and shanahan leaving, hasek is goign to get injured, and it will be up to Osgood, lets hope he can shoulder the responsability. their run at being one of the first dynasties in the Bettman era is at a close, they will be missed. A moment of silence please.
