I don't think they'd be able to withhold your pay. I quit my job about a month and a half ago, and my last paycheck had my vacation pay on it, so I don't see why you wouldn't get your money just cause you quit.

Don't sign any document untill you consult a lawyer or a union representative if you have one. State laws governing "check cashing places" may vary by state. It is possible that your company may be able to recoup their losses through your vacation pay also.
As a former employee of an Indian casino, any shortages traced to me were taken out of my paycheck regardless of the reason. In the event that I quit, any money owed by me to the casino could be recovered through my holiday and vacation pay.

Did you sign any contract when you gained employment with this employer. Go to your local job service and ask to talk to someone is wages and labor. If they say that this is unethical, I would also let the better business bureau know. I would not sign the form. Unless you signed a contract at the beginning of employment with such a clause stating something to the effect as is the current situation.

They can not hold any of your pay.... If you took vacation they must pay you for it... and any other days that you worked as well... do not sign anything.. it seems they are mad b/c they got beat out of some money and looking for you to pay for it...... you are not suppose to...... seek help and let them know that you are not signig it they have insurance to cover that check.. it may be a reason to get rid of you ... do they dislike you for some reason...
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING the Manager should be signing it not you

Don't sign ANYTHING! They will probably keep your vacation pay though. Best advice is to contact an attorney or at least the Wage and Hour Board for your state.

Do not sign anything unless you have your attorney present.
Companies get away with a lot if they're dealing with someone who will just give up and accept being cheated out of what is rightfully theirs. I think you need some legal help with this matter, and get it fast!!

Frankly, your firm should have insurance to protect them from this type of fraud. If I were you I'd get an attorney and ask this question before I signed anything.

They can hold it, you can sue them. It probably isn't legal for them to hold it, but they CAN do it and probably will, because they will think you won't pursue your options. Talk to local paralegal for better advice, hopefully something is available free in your area. Good luck.
