First of all, you are more sensitive to the scent/odor of your own menstrual flow than are others. If you change pads on a regular basis, you should not have any concern about the odor.

Alpha females are keen to that scent, much like the alpha male is keen to the scent at ovulation. Scary, but we are all animals. I don't think that dousing yourself with chemicals to cover the smell is the answer. Use tampons, and it won't bother you so much, but remember....Our bodies know best. Back in the day, we just hid in the underbrush or the cave for a few days. Probably gave us a little relief from the toddlers!

I don't think that people can smell you, per se, but your pheromones are definitely affected by the change in your cycle. I do know what you are talking about. I live with three other women and know all too well the smell of period blood. Maybe you should try embracing your womanly odor?

I doubt if anyone notices, we all feel 'stinky' at that time. The odor starts when the fluid comes into contact with air - that makes tampons a bit more appealing. I have always been lectured to NOT EVER use feminine deoderant sprays as they can cause an UTI.

It depends on how heavy your flow is. If it's too much sometimes you can smell it, but if you are bathing and changing pads often, I think you are overreacting. Changing pads is ok, but you don't have to bathe as often as you probably do. I know because I used to do it too.

I could swear sometimes I do.
But really, I don't think most people will be able to figure it out. They can only guess. I don't even think many people are sensitive to the smell.

I doubt it. Ask some of your girl friends. They will tell you the truth.
