When did the riots start in Chicago by Circle Campus?

I think they said it was over some fire hydrants. The company I worked for was the first to be hit. It was almost directly kitty corner from the college campus. Just a few doors from the corner.

Never heard of this.........I went to UIC the year it opened and have lived in Chicago for over 5 decades....I'm unaware of this occurrence. My Daughter graduated from UIC in1997 and neither of us can recall this event........sorry.
