I have placed an additional memory stick but cannot find if it is working OK

In setup when you start the computer...

Bios is part of your motherboard and is not part of the operating system (XP). But... like the previous answer said, right click My Computer, click properties and the window will show the amount of RAM.

Also during the beginning of boot-up, you will see the RAM being measured. Be sure your BIOS is not set to quick-boot to see everything.

Chances are, if your new memory was not working, you would not even be able to boot up the PC.

Right click on My Computer and click properties. You will see it near the bottom.
