If a person has never really been apart of anyones life, and has never been in a meaningful relationship, how are they supposed to relate to others? How can they start a true friendship when they dont really care to open up to others?

By relationship, I assume you mean the broad scope of interpersonal relationships and not just a romantic one. Different people respond differently. Some people take longer to open up and to trust than others. Some people simply resist opening up and becoming part of someone's life. This isn't really a question with a simple answer, because people and their reactions are all so complex and continually changing based on personal experiences.

I think a person has to care before they can enter into a deeply meaningful relationship but if they have never had one, one way to bond with another person is to talk about mutual experiences, interests or goals.

Some people are very empathetic and don't have to go through the same things to be able to feel for and relate to another person going through a particular situation. This type of person is normally very mature, very understanding, and they are good listeners.

They can't relate, they just exist! Until someone is willing to be who they are in front of someone and take a chance at caring about someone else or being cared about, they'll never know what its like.

i think it just those people that just likes temporary relationship..those people only want some affections for a small period of time..then jump on another person...

as a person even we dont have any experience somewhat we can relate because we got ideas....ideas we could get from different sources.....in a book....our friends...tv...etc.
