I need help with putting game files on my TI-83 Plus Calculator. I tried to put several differnet games on it, one at a time, but everytime I went to try the game, it didn't work. I went to PRGM>>>MARIO(I put mario on my calculator once)>>>and it said "prgmMARIO"...and there was no game there. All that was there was the simple text. Can somebody please help me with my problem, I really want to put at least one game on my new calculator. Thanks in advance.

Okay, Mario is an assembly game, so you need a shell. I've found Ion works best. You can find it and other shells at http://www.ticalc.org/pub/83plus/asm/shells/ .
You need to download the ion.83g or ion.8xg to your calculator, then ungroup it. Run "Ion" from PRGM and use the newly made "A" program to open any assembly games. You can delete the original 3 programs, but you have to keep A and the Ion variable with a funny symbol.

In case you've never downloaded before, here's what you do:
1. First, use a transfer software. The standard one is TI Connect. If you don't have the installation CD that came with your calculator, go to the official TI EDUCATION download site at http://education.ti.com/educationportal/appsdelivery/download/download_interim.jsp?applicationId=183&contentPaneId=7 . Choose a language, download, then install.
2. Get a USB cable for the actual download. One came with the calculator, but if you don't have it, they are easy to get and very versatile.

Hope I've helped! =)

Oftentimes, you'll need an OS (operating system) installed on your calculator for these games to work. One of the best OS's, in my opinion, is MirageOS. You can find it here: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/139/13949.html

ticalc.org is probably the best site for calculator-based games. It got me through a whole year of AP Calc =P. Check it out!

You have to make sure your game and any sub files for that game are in normal memory. I have had problems when some of the files needed for the main program were in archived memory.
