Im talking about the little plastic bumps on the lenses of various headlights

it was part of the mold the lens came from

They are part of am aiming system used on the assembly line. A device actually fits on the headlamp, (the bumps are guides), and the device sets the lamps automatically.

Are these "bumps" on the plastic that protects the lamps inside? I would imagine that they are left there when the plastic lens was molded. Pops

Flat things like leaves can stick to flat surfaces when it's wet, and cover up your headlamp.
