My ring doesn't look like a typical class ring, that's why I loved it so much.

Mine was about 125 bucks, bought in 1993 (grad. in 95) and used a cubic zirconia (not by choice). Totally got bored with the ring after a week or so and was glad I didnt' drop any more cash on it than I did. I don't know anyone who wore their class ring after high school. If I had it to do over again, I might buy a ring that looked more like a normal ring than those class rings. I might have worn it more.

Would rather have had the cash to take a trip after graduation. It is of no use once you go to college, and if you don't go to college, it is still of no use. Take the money that you or your parents would spend and put it toward a trip, or something that you will use longer than the time you have left in high school. You'll even get more use out of an iPod, or some new computer programs, etc. (jmo) Or better yet, use the cash to start a money market account, or invest.

I got the bigger ring for girls. I got 24 carat gold with a supreme cut oval Ruby. I think my mom paid over 300.00 for it.

I don't remember, It was in 1979, I was jumping a fence with a case of beer in my arms, when a cop screatched to a stop, as i was going into a state park, he gave me the "COME OVER HERE" sign with his finger, I gave him a hand signal of my own as I turned and ran into the woods with the beer, my class ring went with my hand message to the cop, somewhere in the woods !
