We want to create graphics in Photoshop, but we only have our mouse to work with. What are some items that we can use to draw objects with without breaking our budget? If it helps, we have a Windows XP system.

Wacom tablets are generally considered the best. Unfortunately, they're a little expensive (a couple hundred dollars, depending on size and features). If you just want something to doodle around with, it's probably not worth it. If you're serious about creating art on a PC the investment is miniscule compared to the increased quality of your work.

You can always draw by hand on paper and use a scanner to import the image into Photoshop. You'll still want a tablet to do cleanup and inking on the computer, but if you do your cleanup and inking on paper a mouse will suffice for coloring.

ok, I draw quite a bit with digital programs. I can't help with other options. I do use my mouse and it works pretty well, but I do use an optical mouse which is about 30 bucks. There is also something called Wacom Tablets. The link below provides ideas on products

Practice with an optical mouse or you can buy a pad and pen.
