One thing you have to consider is this will never pass, and if it does a new technology will take its place. while we have tim cerns www the next big thing may be rrr or ttt, you get the idea. if the government passes this it would have a huge effect on E commerse, which right now makes up an overwhelming 21% of all U.S. trade, so if our government was to pass such a thing, it will hurt the economy, and in turn hurt their chance for reelection.
this is at best a deversion from the real issues facing the common american. If you're worried about this, I urge you to take a look back at other things like this, y2k to start with. sure, we need to tell our government they're assholes for even thinking this, but I dount it'll happen. besides, they can't regultate what the U.K. does, nore canada nore anyone else. if it gets bad, I know being someone who makes a living off the net, I'll move to canada.
