Was she forced to join the Symbionese Liberation Army, or did she volunteer? She was granted a full pardon by President Bill Clinton on January 20, 2001, the last day of his presidency, but I'm still not convinced. What do you think?

Never heard of her.

Still if Bill Clinton gave her a pardon it was more than likely in "the cupboard " of the Oval Office.lol

People have a rethink when they listen to the argument. That is why government mantra is, "We don't talk to terrorists." ; Sometimes if people are allowed the airtime, others may be convinced by their arguments. Patty may have become "Born again".

Definitely brainwashed. She was subject to torture - sensory deprivation, sexual and mental abuse over lengthy period of time.
That on top of the trauma of being kidnapped was more than enough to undermine anyone's sense of reality. I never could understand why an American court would convict her. She was the victim of the SLA.

I don't know how old you are but I am 64+ and remember all of this well. She definitely was brain washed.....that's what cults do.
I am really proud of Clinton for doing this as prison officials said that she was a model prisoner, teaching others and helping with everything....she was a good and decent person before this all happened.

I think she was an impressionable young woman who because of who she was lived in an isolated world.

I think she made some stupid mistakes which she paid for....I think in this case a full pardon was appropriate.

Well, I believe she was kidnapped in the first place, it wasn't like she strolled into their safehouse and asked to join...

It's possible she was just convinced as a rational person by their arguments, but their arguments weren't very coherent.
