why they want to name it like that?

its not any particular person who named the bones in our body....if that is what u are talking about....actually most of our bones are named in latin...most medical terms come from this language and the basics of it. Sometimes the person who first found this bone or actually started gathering information about this bone also could have named the bone There are many reasons why. And each part of the name for each bone has a special and different meaning. In my Medical Terminology class right now we just learned all this stuff... if u want more information e-mail me and i can send u a handout our teacher gave to us about it. I hope this helps. Usually they use latin or it has something to do with the person's name who discovered the bone.

most of the are named from the location of the body like proximal or distal and what muscle is connected to it
