No, jogging and running are but not just walking. Your body and muscles don't move enough when you are walking to lose any weight.

No, for me I don't believe it is. I think walking is as simple as eating or holding a cup. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking it forgranted or anything, I'm glad I have legs and feet that I can walk with, however, an exercise usually includes you sweating and doing it in long periods or duration (so it depends) if you walk for a while like a marathon or walk for the cure (race for the cure) than it becomes an exercise.

Yes it is although if walk faster and swing your arms it would be better for you. But just walking around a shopping mall is not really exercise and the true meaning of the word. but if your going up hills and down hills you are using more leg and body power to do so.

If you walk fast enough to increase the heart rate over a certain amount and get out of breathe (easy if you have to walk up hill in a hurry) then it is a mild form of exercise.

No.

Think about this. You can walk 10 miles without breaking a sweat. Ever been to a theme park? How much energy do you burn? Very little.

yes it is, but you need to walk for a few miles to feel anything. Plus, overweight people tend to eat unhealthy food that is why they cannot burn off the fat.
