Bone cells or osteocytes are colorless. They are surrounded by a non living matrix of calcium and phosphorus chemicals. The bone is also loaded with blood vessels to feed these cells. Bone cells are not made of calcium.

Bone cells are made of Calcium phosphate. Calcium is a whitish element which gives bones their light color. Just think about a sea shell, it is made of mostly calcium carbonate so most shells are light colored like bone.
