I have two friends in different states. One was a teacher, the other a little league coach. My one friend hugged a kid at school and was accused of being a child molester. My other friend patted a kid on the butt when he made a home run and was also accused of this. Isn't this getting way out of hand? I mean adults did all kinds of things with me as a kid and I never thought I was molested! What do you think?

A lot of the time kids get mad and want to seek revenge on someone who more than likely wouldn't give them their way. They can be just as manipulative as adults.

The teacher hugging the child should not be a big issue however, your friend who patted a child on his butt, should not do that. These days there are alot more child molester and adults need to be careful the way the talk, look, and touch a child because everyone has to be cautious.
I have children and I do not trust men around my children because I have a father who is a child molester. If your own father is a child molester who the hell can you trust. My children do not go anyway unless I'm there because I do not want to take a chance and find out that they been molested.
I would probably take the law into my own hands to avoid a situation like that, I keep them away....

I think there are a lot of false accusations made which are very harmful to someone if they turn out to be false. If someone falsely accuses someone else of being a child molestor...it takes A LOT to sway an opinion.
It seems to me that children that are molested don't tell and if they do there is no one to listen to them (it has been shown that child predators specifically go after children that have lax adult supervision or no one to confide in).
BUT...a lot of people SHOULD be investigating these claims whether they are false, seem "over the top" or otherwise. So many children are molested (just do a survey of your friends and see how many say they have been molested or inappropriately handled sexually) and you would be SHOCKED. It is a very serious issue that shouldn't be taken lightly...which is why I think the false accusations may sometimes SEEM ludicrous but what is the alternative?
Also...things that you may deem harmless may offend or be inappropriate to the person it is happening to. It is very subjective sometimes when the situation isn't black and white.

I know someone personally who was charged and convicted with aggravated sexual assault for patting a girl on the BACK!! 3 yrs in prison for that. I agree that a lot of misconduct takes place. But damn. My friend is in jail and Bin Laden runs free. Where's the justice?

Yes. I know a second teacher that told me she can't touch a child if they get hurt on the playground,because of this. When I was in Grammar school(a LONG time ago),my second grade teacher would pull our baby teeth out for us( loose one of course). Can you even think of what an uproar that would be today?

well, here where I am, it seems a whole lot of teachers are being arrested for having "inappropriate relations" with their students; the TV announcer who reported the latest one last night asked, hasn't there been TOO much incidents of this nature lately? I also think innocent stuff such as what you mentioned is overboard as well; to me there should be a straight definition as to what is and isn't inappropriate relations.
