Only liberal parents? I hope some day you'll mature enough to realize that you've been a narrow minded conservative.Consider that maybe the president's daughters listen to rap.Ministers and rabbi's kids, priests kids listen to rap. You have no idea who or why people listen to it.People like you frighten me because you may have the privilege to vote. That IS a weapon of mass destruction.Music is just another source of communication. Like the rest it sends good and bad messages.And Yes some parents are too liberal in forming their kids lives.Don't just blame rap.Blame the 'my child can't do anything wrong' and 'my lawyer wiill prove it' parents.That's the conservative position .' I'm right ,and so are my kids,damn you'.

I was raised by church going conservative parents. They burned my books, threw my records out. My music and my literature were "of the devil". Did I stop reading, stop listening to my music? No, I just hid it better. All it did was make me realize that my parents didn't trust me or the ability to raise me well enough to know I wasn't some devil worshipping heathen.
My kids listen to whatever they want. They are in their 20's now and have listened to everything from musicals like Rocky Horror and Grease to Marilyn Manson and the raunchiest rap you can imagine. They treat their girlfriends with respect, they treat me with respect. They aren't criminals and everyone tells me they are the nicest young men they have ever met.
They borrow my cd's because I still listen to "devil music", Buck Cherry, System of a Down, etc. etc. And guess what? We all know the difference between entertainment and reality. Best of all, we're all liberals and WE ALL VOTE.

To assume liberal parents are the only ones allowing kids to listen vulgar music is ignorant. Making generlization like that is what causes negative stereotypes about people. In other words it is where racism comes from. Can you see the difference between correlating racism with conservatives than vulgar music and liberals. I guess you cant because you must not be educated

How is it any worse than music from Marilyn Manson or Motorhead? And believe it or not, there are country AND jazz songs that are just as raunchy as that of rap and rock today. Haven't you ever heard of Johnny Cash?
Try to do your research before you make baseless, retarded accusations. Last I heard, Common never rapped about rape or killing. Neither does Usher or Mary J. Blige. Get it right, now.

I'm liberal. My kid listens to Ray Charles, Mozart, Dead Can Dance, Solas, The Ramones, The Grateful Dead, Parliment, Donavan, They Might Be Giants, and many others, but no rap.
