With the advent of Napster and I-Tunes is the music industry on its last legs? I remember it used to cost $10 for a single back in 1999/2000. Now you can buy singles for $4 from K-Mart or $1 from I-tunes. CD sales have slumped since the turn of the century. New artists don't have as good a chance at being signed by record labels because the money isn't really there anymore. Thoughts?

It's dying because people are finally starting to reject the crap the entertainment industry puts out. Why buy a CD with 11 songs on it and only three really good ones? A waste of money.

It's dying cause music today sucks. Why buy a $20 CD when there's only gonna be maybe two good songs on it? Just get 'em off limewire for free. There isn't a new band on the radio who's CD I'd buy. As soon as I hear a band that I like I'll buy their CD, until then I'll keep listening to the music I already have. Radio doesn't play any good songs anyways.

When CDs were fairly new, all the manufacturer promised a cut in their price, it never happened. Hiphop and rap artists are the only ones who really have a chance at "making it big". and when you figure out the price of seeing a live music act, it's no wonder the industry is taking a nose dive. PS Lindita, what is a "Luser" ?

NO. below no circumstances. The song marketplace is doing very well with out John Lennon, and could proceed to finish that for the unforeseeable destiny. there is more advantageous to song than a lifeless Beatle

Sure, whatever. I like my music, itz not all rap and shite like that. Itz different and some of it is old and some of it is new. I don't care if the industry fails, just so long as all my songs that I already have don't disappear.
