How does a person get selected for these home makeover shows on TV?

You know, shows like "Design to Sell" and others like that!

I think they probably contact the Show somehow - or they know the people in the show, or are friends of a friend who knows someone from the show.

You have to go to the network site that airs the show and there should be something there to click on to try and be on the show
