No.

Every single scientific community has declared that not only are the "ex-gay" programs unreliable with unfounded beliefs, but also unhealthy. Even the groups that claim to have a certain famous scientist recently saying that homosexuality can be changed/is a choice/etc. are purposefully misquoting people (usually Dr. Robert Spitzer) to forward a false idea on others so their following can remain strong and secure.

In fact, many "cured" gays enter back into the "lifestyle" because what's to help? They're attracted to men/women, they don't have a disease.

" * The American Psychological Association states that scientific evidence shows that reparative therapy does not work and that it can do more harm than good.

* In 1998, the American Psychiatric Association stated it was opposed to reparative therapy, stating "psychiatric literature strongly demonstrates that treatment attempts to change sexual orientation are ineffective. However, the potential risks are great, including depression, anxiety and self-destructive [suicidal] behavior..." APA's Current Position Statement

* The American Counseling Association has adopted a resolution that states that it: opposes portrayals of lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth and adults as mentally ill due to their sexual orientation; and supports the dissemination of accurate information about sexual orientation, mental health, and appropriate interventions in order to counteract bias that is based on ignorance or unfounded beliefs about same-gender sexual orientation.7 Further, at its 1999 World Conference, ACA adopted a position opposing the promotion of "reparative therapy" as a "cure" for individuals who are homosexual.

* The American Medical Association, states in its policy number H-160.991, that it “opposes, the use of ‘reparative’ or ‘conversion’ therapy that is based upon the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder or based upon the a priori assumption that the patient should change his/her homosexual orientation”.

* The American Academy of Pediatrics in its policy statement on Homosexuality and Adolescence states: Confusion about sexual orientation is not unusual during adolescence. Counseling may be helpful for young people who are uncertain about their sexual orientation or for those who are uncertain about how to express their sexuality and might profit from an attempt at clarification through a counseling or psychotherapeutic initiative. Therapy directed specifically at changing sexual orientation is contraindicated, since it can provoke guilt and anxiety while having little or no potential for achieving changes in orientation.

* In 2001, The U.S. Surgeon General's Call to Action to Promote Sexual Health and Responsible Sexual Behavior asserted that homosexuality is not "a reversible lifestyle choice.”"

I wouldve thought not, but then look at prisons. Straight men go gay all the time in prison. How do you explain that? seriously guys, if theres a way to turn gay we need to do it! women are naggy, needy and have too weak of sex drives due to low testosterone. The only reason we want them is cause they're so damn hot physically, but mentally they're super boring. Men are more funny too and dont PMS. Is there a way to turn gay without going to prison?

Yes, and I think I understand you don't want to change some one your self but are wondering if people can change. I know it's hard for people to believe that God created all of us with love and care. but he did Male & Female even our bodys were made to compliment eachother in sex and of corse in procreation it takes a man and a woman that is not by mistake.God tells us in the Bible thats how he created us and that homosexuality is a perversion of his creation. Some people think that this is a measage of hate but it's the exact opposite it's only shareing the truth .if I tell some one that there are consiquences that could hurt them due to the way you're living , thats trying to help not hurt .Every one has to make a choice to accept God's ways or reject him . Truth is absolute not relative we don't get to make up the rules as we go along. So yes it is possible for a gay man to turn straight just like it is possible for him to turn gay.but it's up to that individual to decide to change no one can do it for them. they have the power it's the power of choice.

(SIDE BAR) Some times we do more harm than good when we badger someone and point the finger at them.We should share in a loving manner and leave it alone unless they want to talk further. You can pray about it but it's the Holy Spirits job to change hearts not our's.

Sure. My Aunt Edna had an a22 as wide as a house and a bigger temper. When her husband left he moved in with a man.

Of course he could have just been a drinking buddy.

Preface: you are asking a question about genetics.

1. Is is possible to choose to turn your blue eyes green naturally?

2. Is it possible to change a heterosexual man homosexual?

3. Proof, if you are heterosexual, I want you to prove to me that you can change to homosexual and feel the fit sincerely, or vise versa. If you can successfully do that and delight in your new lifestyle, you win.

4. You may find the spring issue of Scientific American Mind interesting in what they have to say about it all.
