Tough question.

Harry Truman didn't take s*** from anyone and helped end WWII with the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Japan. Had he not made that decision, a great many more Americans would have died. And, he helped to set things in motion for the Eisenhower years in the 1950's which were a very prosperous time for the country.

Kennedy had the guts to stand up to the Russians during the Cuban Missle Crisis and while many claim he brought us to the brink of nuclear war, he didn't blink or give an inch. There was so much potential that was left unfilled because of his assassination.

Clinton will be forever remembered because of the Monica Lewinsky scandal and subsequent impeachment by the power-mad, vindictive Republicans. He presided over a period of unprecedented economic growth and peace, left office with a massive budget surplus (since squandered by his successor) and proved to be a man of the people.

Edge - just barely Clinton over Truman - and who knows what the list would look like had Kennedy lived?

Clinton ran the country better then the other two. He answered every challenge and I think his administration puts me in mind of the Eisenhower era, if it wasn't for a over zealous prosecutor delving into his private life he would have been considered one of the best presidents ever. I would have to put Truman next and then Kennedy. Only because Jack Kennedy didn't have very long to do anything but had some great plans for America.

Bill Clinton. Truman dropped the bomb which ended up changing the world for the worst because everyone worries about it now. Kennedy is over-rated and there was no guarantee he would even win re-election. The reason he was in Texas was because he was losing support there. He is idealised because of his assissination. Under Clinton everyone was happy and the economy was excellent. There were no major wars. Outside of the fact he was impeached he was excellent.

JFK ... He did not appease the enemy, he played a damn good game of brinkmanship poker with the Soviet Union, and still managed to keep us out of a global war. Vietnam no withstanding, I think he did a better job then Clinton, and better then Truman. You do know that he did inherited the situation in Vietnam, right?

Me as a conservative, believe that Harry Truman did a good job with the bomb, but almost any president would have, JFK, i liked him a lot. In fact he was the last conservative democrat to be president. Seriously, look at his policies, they align much better with conservatives.

Your factors are properly made. The Democrat party has been taken over with the aid of far left extremist nutcases, and as greater human beings understand this fact they are going to grow to be further and further marginalized. The Democratic party used to stand for American exceptionalism, a reliable foreign places coverage that regarded after American hobbies, and a unfastened marketplace financial device. They fought the Republicans on somewhat minor coverage ameliorations, yet, in comparison to today, they have been mainstream. President Kennedy proposed reducing taxes to spice up the financial device, and made a perfectly anti-communist speech on the Berlin Wall (today's leftie Democrats might call it "crimson baiting"!) The Democrat party, like the term "liberal", has been corrupted and perverted previous attractiveness.
