I'm 34, and have had 2 babies in the past 3yrs. Now my pms seems to be getting worse. I feel so out of control. I'm fine the rest of the month, but I am just plain hostile and on-edge during that time. Also, is it horrible to ask your doc for medication? I hate to take it, but I feel I have no control over my emotions.

It is not horrible to ask your doctor for medication. If your pms is severe enough, your doctor will give you medication to calm you down.

Pms is a real condition and can get more severe over time. You shouldnt be afraid to ask your doctor for help. My pms got real bad so I started taking the pill, and it helped me a lot.

It is common for your extra mood swings during your period dear. Its called PMS for a reason it Premensral Syndrome. But theres an also more severe form of it. With having had 2 babies in a 3 year period your body probly did not even have time for the hormones to settle down after you had your first then to have a second then you have double the hormones running thru the system. I had Premenstral syndrome pretty bad but then I had one girl in 98 and then had my son in 99. Let me tell you it was several months before i realized that i had a problem. On top of everything I was sufering from post partum depression also and it was really only activated when my period was about to come.

They can treat you and get you back to normal just talk to your family physician and he can help you.

I'm only 14 and I can hardly controll my emotions on my period. I know, I'm young...and most people think I choose not to handle it, but really, I can't...I really can't either. I don't know what to do. Good luck though! I'm interested in the asnwers!

It doesn't alter mine at all. It just depends on the person, your personal hormone level, and how you react to it.
