I've been divorced for about 4 years now and we were seperated for about 12 years before that. Is it strange that my ex and I have a better relationship now then when we were married? She has guy friends and I have female friends. And we both realize we're both better off this way. Just wondering how others view this.

I think it is awesome especially if you have kids together. Also at one time in your lives you loved each other and that's got to count for something.

In every marriage there are good times an bad , but that is what makes you grow spirtuially your vows for better or worse richer or poorer in good times an in bad till Death do you you part . that is your pardner for life! before getting married you go through cousleing. during hard times you still need cousleing an a true sprit . where two or three are gathered in my name i will always be there. (Jesus) so if you are divorced i hope both of you parted with good terms. so it is not strange because both know each other's habbits an lil quirks.

if that works for you, OK.. but if you have children with her be carefull.. Me and my ex were pretty good for a while. I cut the grass, painted the house, and worked on the house. I thought it was OK, I seen my children every day.. Then I met my new wife went to jail 7 times and have not seen my kids in two years.. Hope it works out ok but it may be a trap... Be carefull that breed is crazzzzy!!!!!!!!!!!

The same thing happened to a relative of mine; they separated and remained friends for about 30 years afterwards; when one of them died, the other got everything that was worthwhile because they never divorced.

thats awesome to know that the two of you can still be close and i commend you for that ,how can you stop loving someone you fell in love with in the first place ,i think it is virtually impossible ,but some ppl are so stubborn they just say things they dont mean wich hurts both parties in the end ,best of luck to the both of you, xoxox

I think that is wonderful. I am still friends with my ex but I have distanced myself a bit since I got married out of respect for my hubby who definitely felt a bit uncomfortable with it...and that's cool by me!

A lot of couples are realizing that an amicable relationship is the best for evryone involved. Especially kids plus, it beats doing time for murder.

I don't see it as strange. I think that it is great that, the two of you can bee such good friends. Maybe that is what you were meant to be just friends,

I think its good . Maybe you were not ready then and needed to explore other things. I think that would just make your relationship stronger . Now you know how you feel.
