Racism is alive and well in all cultures in ALL countries; just different groups at the top and bottom of the pile.
I think Racism in the USA would decrease if political correctness was done away with. If honesty replaced correctness, then perhaps some of the basic weaknesses in each group could be identified; within that group people could begin to resolve some of the weaknesses that are oppressing that group. To say that everyone is equal in any sense, is hogwash and we all know that. We as people, and we as members of the public have strong and weak points.

Well today people don't look at racism anymore and if they see people racist they just say they're ignorant and just plain ol' stupid. Well anyways it seems as if the only people noticed for being racist are white people. If a African-American or Spanish person, as myself. Were to say, You white people are crazy these days. They would not get penalized for it. If a Caucasian person says, You black people are crazy these days they would get jumped for it. How do I know? It just happened in my English class today. A Caucasian person in my class didn't say, You black people are crazy. A black person said it the other way around. You want to know what else happened? This boy in my class told this black boy, your racist. The black boy responded by saying, I am black so how can I be racist? Isn't that some serious bull?

I think we are better than we were 50 years ago. A lot better. That doesn't mean there's not room for improvement. There's still a lot of racism and intolerance in this country. Hopefully it will get better. I think a lot of the stuff you read on here is so outlandish that they can't possibly be serious. I think they just get some form of entertainment out of making people mad and reading all the responses. It's like internet head games.

When I lived in the US I never thought about the fact that people live in mostly segregated communities. That was the way things were.
Now I live in the West Indies, Im the minority, a white man in a black nation. I never thought I was a racist, and I wasnt, not in the sense the word is normally used. But I was uncomfortable around groups of people that I felt I didnt belong in (and that goes further than skin color).
Now I see people not people of any specific color.
Make of that what you will.

See the question I asked- meant in a sarcastic way-
You see all kinds of posts about "minorities on here, but white people are hestiant to look at themselves, and even don't know what to say...
Heck yes- racism still exists. Sadly- what our children are taught is what we are looking at. I think it will get better though. Sooner than Later hopefully.

I believe it's not that big of a problem, but it is a problem nonetheless. Like a dirty "little secret" that happens in the workplace, or sneers in the restaurant, or Police brutality towards blacks.

Sorry my friend everyone is racist to a certain degree, unfortunately some more than others, but believe me when I say this, we are all racist to some degree. Its human nature.

America will pick on another group to ostracize.
And it's really THE MIDDLE EAST that is stuck in the past.
