Are you just speaking of Catholic Priests, or are you thinking along the lines of "men of the cloth"? Because if you're thinking of men of God, there is:
Jerry Fallwell
Jesse Jackson
Al Sharpton
Pat Robertson
(I am sure there were others, but I am drawing a blank)
Should they enter? If they can focus on the issues without "preaching", then why not? If they have to have a sermon each time they address the nation, then I really don't care to have them in any sort of position of political service. That doesn't mean one shouldn't; it is just one point of view.

A priest or minister has the same right as any other citizen to seek public office, It is up to the voters to decide if they are elected or not.
Barring a person of faith, whatever your take on that belief sustem, from any of the rights of citizenship, violates the Constitution.

No....religion and politics do not mix. If the churches want to debate politics, then they should pay taxes.
