I assume you mean Apollo Beach, FL? I can't say that I've ever heard of a really good beach up that way... there is a large Nuclear power plant on that side of Tampa Bay and a lot of the ports are over towards there as well. Anna Maria Island/Holmes Beach on the northern end of Longboat Key are really nice, they should be about an hour's drive depending on where you live near Apollo Beach, and when I say nice, I mean that I think that its actually worth the time and effort to go!! :-) Hope this helps out.
