Cost and versatility favours a PC; it needs a program to do whatever it suppose do.

Speed and functionality favours hard wired; although you probably can't pull off and reuse anything from it in a cost-effective way.

A hard wired system is faster, but pre-programmed. A pc system is slower and must be programmed, but is more flexable. Games consoles have some hard wired systems in then to improve performance.

you are a moron, a pc has to be hard wired to it's power supply only peripheral equipment is controlled by anything else - lap tops have batteries and can go wire free for very short amount of time (normally an hour or so) then need hard wire back to a power supply or they stop working
